Welcome!

i’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Kate — a somatic therapist and coach in Philadelphia supporting people in creating more connection and safety in their lives, even in the midst of pain.

Specializations

  • If you deal with chronic migraine or chronic pain, you know that it can be one of the most debilitating experiences possible. The exhaustion of managing medication, trying to anticipate a future pain flare at any moment, dealing with the ongoing symptoms: It’s a full-time job. And often, you’re doing a lot of it by yourself.

People in your life want to understand and support you, but at the end of the day, you’re the one dealing with the full weight of this experience. Chronic pain can disconnect us from both ourselves and the lives we want to be living.

It would make sense if you have a hard time imagining anything different. We can work together to create safety and connection in your internal and external experience. I can support you in finding a different way to be in your body, to find relief and calm through the unpredictable experience of chronic pain. I bring an integrated, somatic approach to support you in an expansive way.

I have the lived experience of a decade of chronic pain, primarily chronic migraine. I feel honored to support others experiencing this and feel passionate about this work.

  • When we’re working together, we can do more than talk therapy: I can also support you in listening to your body and finding a new connection to yourself.

I am trained in EMDR, and am receiving ongoing specialized training in Somatic Experiencing. Building internal safety and connection can be a transformational journey that can bring relief and change in every aspect of life.

Somatic experiencing is a modality that combines psychology, neuroscience, ethology, physiology, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics to provide a comprehensive way to treat and resolve trauma. We can work together to learn what your body needs to feel supported and alive.

Somatic therapy can be supportive no matter what your relationship to your body is. If you feel disconnected from yourself or unsure of what a better relationship with your body would even look like, we can figure that out together.

  • Trauma and anxiety can keep us really disconnected. My role is to help you access the tools you already have so that you can move towards relief and connection.

I work to provide a warm space where we can explore what healing means for you. This can include psychodynamic talk therapy, somatic therapy, EMDR, and a focus on building a safe relationship in the therapeutic space.

I have experience working with generalized anxiety and other anxiety, childhood trauma, childhood neglect, sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, religious trauma, developmental trauma, trauma around white supremacy and racial trauma, trauma around queerness and gender, trauma around anti-fatness, medical trauma, complex trauma and PTSD.
